Why albion swords?

by Sam H.
(Vancouver, BC, Canada)

I have been wondering exactly what it is that makes Albion swords such an amazing manufacturer. they don't seem to beat swords at a much lower price point in the areas of durability, edge retention, indeed it seems the only area in which they excel is in historical accuracy. is this the case?

i know just enough about swords to realize how truly limited my knowledge is, i know that past the $500 mark swords become somewhat like fine wines, to an undeveloped palate, they seem no different than a $25 bottle.

I am interested in what makes brands like Albion, and models like V.A.'s regal line worth the money they ask.

in doing this i am sure that i am displaying my ignorance for all to see, but i am simply seeking to learn.
