Practical Longsword (Sharp Version)

by Calvin S.
(Alberta, Canada)

I recently acquired the new Practical Long sword (sharp version) that Valiant armoury has come out with. At first impression the sword looks and feels great. The handle is wood core and leather wrapped, it has the cord binding marks that you find on Albion and Atrim leather handles. The cross guard and the pommel have satin finishes and look good, but you can tell the pommel is cast just by the marks on it. The blade itself looks very well done. The fuller and the blade are both straight and well done. On a side note this particular model seems to be shipped extremely sharp. The scabbard has a wood core and leather wrapped as well. The quality of the parts and the finish is all very well done.

For the price of this sword ($300 or less) with wood scabbard this is a great deal and for those who want to get into cutting or sword collecting this deal cannot be bet, especially if you buy it from the SBG store which automatically gives you a great discount on this already well priced sword.
