Musashi Dragon Strike Katana

by Phillip Rivas
(Tampa, FL)

It was a pretty good sword, to start out with. $55.00 for a sharp, high carbon steel blade is a pretty great deal.

It wasn't razor sharp, as the name suggests, but it was sharp enough for light duty cutting. It is also very durable; I have hit it against many hard objects and the blade has never chipped or curled. The only time this has happened was when I was testing it and I stabbed it into a tree, which curled the tip a little bit. Amazingly though, it still can stab through milk bottles with no hassle.

The main problem that I have right now is the Ito wrapping. It is pretty soft and made out of cotton, but is also a bit loose. The knot that secures the kashira to the tsuka became a little bit loose over time, which really isn't that much of a problem. It's still very usable and very functional.

I definitely recommend buying swords from Musashi if you are low on cash. They are functional, and pretty nice looking.
