masahiro elite mussahi katana

Well when you first get this katana it looks great has good balance and is tightly wrapped.

I highly doubt these are hand forged due to the perfect hamon it is exact no human could do so so precise and after your first cut or use with this sword you will notice the scratches other damages to it.

Now you see right beofre I prepare to purchase a new sword I test the one before it to the extremes so I decided to chop 2x6"s with this katana and it actually has amazing blade geometry for it cuts despite it very unsharpness.

It goes through about 2 of the six inches of the wood. Then after doing this for a while the blade has some small chips I decide to cut straight down the wood with all my might and the board Im cutting is about three feet long so I cut it from top to bottom and to my surprise it cuts through almost a foot.

Now keep in mind this has been sitting outside for some time so its not as strong as normal but I was surprised and right after my surprise I become angry for the reason the manufacter lied they say this 14 inch tsuka is full tang but infact this glued togeather sword after my force breaks the tsuka the tang is only about 9 inches long so as I never had a good time to do so since the tsuka broke I plan to make a shirasaya.

The saya of this katana doesnt hold up either. When drawing the blade quickly it will be broken but my review of this sword is Blade strenth 4/5 for it will dent and chip but not brake , fitings tsuka and saya 2/5 look good but breakableprice 5/5 it was extremely cheap from SOM.com 65$$.

You do get more than you pay for just not much more I would of priced this around 90$$ but anyway this was my expierience with this katana.
