Kingdom of heaven

I have to date only purchased one windlass sword the Kingdom of heaven, sword of Ibelin. Having bought movie replica swords before I was expecting a reasonably pretty display sword, however with the sword of ibelin things were very different.

First of all this sword isn't pretty, it's stunning, perfectly proportioned with such a delightfully shaped and designed hilt that it is truly beautiful to behold.

The other thing I noticed is that whilst slightly whippy, but not much this sword is fully functional and having tested it on plastic bottles and other such light targets i have found that it is very capable and despite what other people have said i would say that it behaves very well in the hand for a movie replica.

KINGDOM OF HEAVEN= SWORD OF IBELIN

WHY CAN'T WINDLESS MAKE A FEW MORE OF THESE SWORDS. I THINK THEY ARE STILL EXTREMELY POPULAR WITH A LOT OF PEOPLE LOOKING TO BUY ONE, INCLUDING MYSELF. PERHAPS THEY DIDN'T SELL WELL THE FIRST TIME BECAUSE THEY WERE A LITTLE TOO EXPENSIVE. PLEASE MAKE SOME MORE OF THEM!

Too late!
by: Jeppe - Denmark

I must agree to the reviews above but unfortunately the news of the KOH replica swords did not reach Denmark before it was too late. I am currently trying to complete the collection but it is almost impossible. Do anyone know where to get these still?

Definitely one of their best swords
by: Paul Southren

There is little doubt that the Kingdom of Heaven line were some of the best swords that Windlass ever produced.

What is a real shame is that they did not sell as well as Windlass expected and in the end had to be dumped. The worst part is, it doesn't encourage 'movie sword' makers to make something that is functional, and in this respect is a real blow for the movement away from Wallhangers that it may have precipitated if it had been sucessful... :-(

But on the bright side, it showed what kind of swords they can make if they put their minds to it!
