I recently ordered the Grosse Messer from Cold Steel
This sword is somewhat bland in appearance (it is clearly not meant to be a dispaly piece) but what a great edge!

The whole sword is well made, giving the feel of a sturdy tool or survival implemement, not a wall hanger or knock-off. I had only one minor distraction. While I do live in a small town in Alabama, it still took more than 4 weeks for the sword to be delivered. I also told a friend about this outstanding item and she ordered for her son's birthday. She placed the order well in advance (by 6 weeks) but it came a month late. Not sure why the great difference in delivery times to the same area, but in general the delay in arrival was noteworthy. I've also ordered from the SBG store and saw rapid delivery for equally great items.

I still believe Cold Steel is a great company, I own many of their products (knives such as the military classic are some of the finest you can get in production line stuff) but don't count on their rapid delivery..they are a great manufacturer, not a smoth retailer.
