I purchased DSA Elven Fantasy Sword

by Frank Colista
(Biglerville, Pennsylvania, USA)

My first real sword....
The blade, crossguard and pummel rock! I had the grip replaced recently (DSA sent me a new one, no charge) as it had deteriorated somewhat where it meets the crossguard. The leather wrapping on the new grip is a definite improvement, although I don't know if the wood of the grip is an improvement.

I have been taking instruction in longsword, with the emphasis on teachings of Johann Liecthenauer (forgive me if I have mis-spelled his last name), and now discover that, in attempting to master hand an a half longsword, this DSA sword is definitely too heavy. I need a sword that's really no more than 3 and a half pounds. Unfortunate, because I really love this sword.
