DSA Medieval Knight Sword ..... a little disappointed.

Recently received the DSA Medieval Knight sword directly from DSA and I must say I was a little disappointed.

DSA swords obviously have a great reputation for durability and strength, but they really need to work on "fit and finish".

I waited with great antisipation for the arrival of this sword. I loved the design and look of the sword and with their reliability reputation I couldn't wait.

Upon opening the box and wiping down the sword I was very upset to see many scuff marks and scratches on the blade itself. The large pommel as well had a number of scratches and small dents on the machined edges. The worst of it all was the blade slot machined in the guard. This slot should have been a long neat rectangular slot, but on one end it appeared the cutting tool continued too far leaving a 1/8" cut too far on one edge. It is very easy to see and the part should have been scrapped, not put on my sword and shipped. This is very poor quality control.

I must say, the sword is rock solid and the leather grip pretty nice. The scabbard, as was expected from other reviews, was really of poor qualty and no suprise.

I guess I will keep the sword and possibly use it as a beater, but what a shame. With just a little attention to fit and finish this could have been a great sword anyone would be proud of.
