Cavalier is positively royal!

by Roberto
(Minneapolis MN)

About 8 years ago I purchased A&A's Cavalier rapier as a gift to myself for finishing a masters degree. Every time I hit hard economic times, the knowledge I could recoup the considerable investment tempts me--for a mere instant. This may be the last thing I ever sell off just before hitting homeless shelter territory. The\is is the quintessential cut-and-thrust Renaissance sword, with superb handling and authority in both kinds of attacks. My only quibble is in calling it a "rapier" when it's so much of a perfect 16th/17th century military sword. ;-) Someday I hope to be able to afford a custom long main gauche/shortsword that matches the Cavalier's hilt en suite. (If anything might kick me in the ass to suck it up and do a doctorate, so i could reward myself with it, that would be it ...)
