Casual collector and cutter

by Buff Rodman

I seem to have gotten into all of this at just the right time, having bought my first sword from you, Paul, just a few years ago.

What I thought was the simple purchase of one medieval to "scratch an itch" I'd had since I was a kid has turned in to a rack of blades from various cultures and time periods. I have found sword collecting to be a terrific way to explore history. And err... well Yeah, cutting down milk bottles is just good clean fun!

As you say - at this point there is almost more choice than I know what to do with. I have also noticed a parallel development in how well swords are being photographed and presented online. So much more detail (photos, stats, commentary) is commonly available now. What a great time to be buying swords.

I am really looking forward to what we will be seeing in the next 5 years.

Thanks for the nicely thought out and well written article.
