BoltHobbit

by S. Crawford
(West Fargo ND USA)

Until recently, every blade I've owned was by Windlass. I like the fact that they offer a good selection of large daggers and short swords, as most regular swords are simply too large for my hands and too unwieldly for someone of my size. Obviously, since I'm purchasing shorter weapons I haven't noticed any 'whippyness' but I have noticed some looseness in the hilts. Happily, being a handy person who works at a hardware store, I have no problems with disassembly and refits; same with making wooden core scabbards to replace the usual leather ones. The blades and fittings are usually very good, everything else, if necessary, is an easy fix and frankly, a fun project. Same goes for sharpening!
