I got my first real sword from a company called Legacy Forge www.legacyforge.net their web site is terrible but I did not buy it off line, I got it from their booth at my local renaissance fair.

I got the broadsword, and its a very sturdy blade. They sell their swords dull only, because they are meant to be used for stage dueling. They are worth a check also because they are willing to talk to you and make a custom sword for you.

All their swords also have a lifetime warranty, as long as you don't do anything stupid to them.

Sword
by: Tony

I've been looking for a decent sword for years. I knew nothing about quality swords until I deployed to Iraq and brought back a sword I bought from a vendor at the Ziggurat of Ur. I swung it around a couple times and the blade nearly fell off. Since then, I've learned a lot about swords. Bought a really nice Katana from these guys at the Colorado Renaissance Festival this year (2011). All I can say is quality. A little pricy, but well worth it. You can get cheaper...but you get...cheaper...and hope you don't ever actually have to use it.

I couldn't get to their website though :(

Very good people
by: William

I just bought a bowie knife from this outfit at Scarborough Faire in Waxahachie. The folks in the booth were friendly both to me, and the gang of less sword-savvy high school kids nearby. Picky as I am regarding bowies, I love this one, and while it was a bit dear, the quality of craftsmanship is all I could want. I'll likely be posting a review on the new forum in the near future.

Legacy Forge
by: AF Comm Guy

Legacy Forge is owned and operated by Paul Dubro out of Texas. He is a distributor for Starfire Swords and Baltimore Knives as well as selling his own high end blades. I know Paul personally as he is a near and dear friend of mine so this review is going to be biased. Still, you are guaranteed to get high quality service from him or any of his employees. If any of them gives you bad service, let Paul know and he will... attend to the situation. You can catch him at various renaissance faires throughout the year including Scarborough Renaissance Festival, Ohio, Colorado Renaissance Faire, Key West and a small little affair out in Las Cruces, NM each year. Check out the Legacy Forge site on Facebook for the most up to date information.
