New Product Releases

Munetoshi

Munetoshi swords has released a new series of hand forged swords. Each of the six in the series is made using the much respected T-10 tool steel. The fittings of each sword are unique and illustrate their overall quality. You can see the whole series at

CAS Hanwei

Hanwei has released two new katanas made from their fancy, new "High-Alloy steel". This is the same steel featured in a few swords in Bugei's lineup. The first is the Bamboo Mat katana. The saya is deeply lacquered with a horn fittings. The bamboo mat theme is very attractive and makes this already pretty blade a near work of art.

The Lion Dog katana features simple yet, attractive fittings on an O-kissaki blade. This sword's striking hamon makes up for the rather understated fittings, as does the saya, that features a ribbed section the mouth, and a unique "spatter-lacquered" finish.
